It was a huge honour to be named the Personal Finance Society’s ‘Volunteer of the Year’ at a previous black tie awards evening. The Personal Finance Society (PFS) has over 35,000 members and the award was presented to me by famous actor, James Nesbitt – someone I’m a big fan of having watched him in Cold Feet and Stan Lee’s Lucky Man so many times over the years.

The ‘Volunteer of the Year’ award was in recognition of my volunteering in the local, national and international community. Locally this included me providing pro bono advice at CAB, and helping local causes in and around Cardiff. Nationally, I was involved in fundraising work for several charities including the BBC’s Children in Need. Internationally, I have helped raise money for various charities including one which helped to build schools in Nepal, a country where one in three boys and two in three girls do not receive a basic education.

Helping others has always been one of my main attributes and that is carried over to my role as a Chartered Financial Planner; helping people protect and benefit their families and themselves.
